Organic farming is a system of agricultural and livestock production that prohibits the use of chemicals such as for example: pesticides, fertilizers, additives, etc… As a results, organic farming provides healthy and natural products with all their nutritional properties while respecting the environment.

The European Union regulates organic agriculture. In fact, organic products must meet criteria throughout their production and their elaboration. These criteria guarantee that products are healthy and natural.  Moreover, the European Union authorized independent certification bodies to control farmers at least once a year, in order to ensure the authenticity of products.

You can know if a product is organic or not thanks to its label. Indeed the label of organic products must contain the organic logo with the code of the entity that certifies the product. There are several organic logos, such as for example the European logo or the American logo (that you can see on the picture), etc… Finally, you can only use the words: “ecological”, “green”, “eco”, and “organic” for products from organic farming.
